Sliding Sash Windows

We offer sliding sash windows in timber and PVCu.

Our timber vertical sliding sash window has been designed with the dimensions of the sash frames, meeting rails and glazing bars made slim and with traditional mouldings. To carry the weight of double glazed units, the sliding sashes are hung on smooth running, concealed springs. This neat, unobtrusive mechanism provides a discreet and visually superior alternative to the more commonly available spring balances.

Ideal for conservation areas, historical building projects, refurbishments or distinctive new build developments our traditional timber sash window offers sightlines with a choice of elegant glazing bars. These expertly crafted, well-built windows incorporate quadruple weather-strips and extremely high insulation (1.1W/m²K) sealed glazing units which minimise heat loss and down draughts.

Our timber sash windows are fully factory finished in a choice of micro-porous paint or stain finishes. All made to order in a range of sizes and styles all factory glazed with argon gas filled sealed units comprising soft coat energy saving glass.

Our PVCu range of sash windows is manufactured by ‘Bygone’

Bygone offer an authentic grained effect which creates a stunning painted wood appearance with the low maintenance and longevity of PVC-u. The Georgian bars that create each pane are crucial to the authentic look of a sash window. Only one thing achieves that result – authentically shaped, securely fixed, surface mounted external glazing bars.

Bygone sash windows have external bonded bars as standard, which add a third dimension to your windows, protruding from the surface of the glass the way the muntin bars did on the originals creating depth, character and shadow lines.
