For this two-Storey, ranch-style home clad in dark cream cedar, our client wanted a window and door system that complemented the contemporary aesthetic while providing ample natural light and the best possible high energy efficiency.
One of the great design features of this modern home is how the ground floor elevation has been designed with full-height or floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout which creates an uninterrupted connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The consistent heights of all the windows and doors on the ground floor also provide balance and symmetry with all windows and doors at the same height.

Contemporary Internorm Windows and Doors
Our choice of Internorm’s timber-aluminium windows for this cedar-clad home brought out the best in this modern property, combining the natural beauty of wood on the interior with the resilience and low-maintenance properties of aluminium on the exterior. On the ground floor, we installed a series of single, double, and sliding doors—all full-height to maximize light and create a seamless transition to the outdoors. To add architectural interest, we incorporated triangular feature windows above the larger sliding door sets, enhancing the home’s contemporary look.
The first floor of this dwelling comprises similar-styled glazing and rooflights. The striking gable design called for a central sliding door, flanked by raked sidelights that open out onto a covered balcony. This layout brings symmetry to the upper level and lets the homeowners fully enjoy the surrounding views.
