RK Terra Front Doors – A Contemporary Front Door with Lasting Performance
The homeowners were looking for a statement front door that combined design, durability, and high security. The RK Terra was selected for its bold architectural styling and robust aluminium construction, but with the warmth and texture of real wood. Unlike traditional timber doors, this model uses premium aluminium profiles with a sublimated wood-effect finish—offering the visual warmth of timber with none of the maintenance drawbacks. A base coat is applied to the aluminium battens and then the profiles are wrapped in a special film containing the light oak and wood texture finish. After baking at over 200 degrees centigrade, the finished look is outstanding.
The textured Winchester Oak coating applied to aluminium replicates the look and feel of real wood, while the inner face is finished in white to suit the home’s interior. Internally the door is finished in RAL 7047 matt.

Design and Configuration to Suit the Property
Configured as a 1300mm wide single door with a matching side panel, and glazed top panel this disctinctive RK Terra front door enhances the property’s front elevation with clean, flush lines and precise detailing. The wood effect blends perfectly with the light brickwork and contemporary grey metal cladding on the roof and sides. Externally the door features a discreet keyhole with a recessed handle. Internally is a designer lever handle with separate thumbturn cylinder, letting you lock the doors reliably without a key from the inside. LED lighting provides a focal feature.
The side panel whilst having the same wood effect vertical aluminium battens just like the door leaf, also has added subtle slimline sandblasted glass inserts. These allow natural light to into the hallway but without compromising privacy. All glass used in the entire door set is triple glazed.
Security and thermal performance come as standard with all RK Terra Front doors. The RK Terra is certified to PAS 24:2022 and Secured by Design standards—offering a high level of protection against forced entry. The door set itself comprises automatic locking with the frame mounted keypad. This works not only with a fob, but also fingerprint recognition and wifi. Internall is a push button release for unlocking the door for exit. All locks on this particular door are electronic.
With a typical U-value of just 0.7 W/m²K, the door also supports the home’s overall energy efficiency. The heavy-duty 3mm aluminium layers and single-frame design provide long-term rigidity and reliability, with this door promising reliable daily use for years to come.
A low threshold was also specified, providing easy access and a minimal step, without compromising thermal insulation or security.
