Product Overview 

Our Rationel windows collection is entirely bespoke. We carefully consider every detail—from colour and glazing to opening and closing functions—to create completely bespoke windows. Choose from full timber windows or hybrid composite windows with aluminium outside and wood inside.  

Two signature styles provide a choice of either contemporary or traditional windows. Rationel AURA and  AURAPLUS or  Rationel FORMA and FORMAPLUS. Both styles are available with double or triple-glazing options, and the PLUS models feature timber frames with aluminium cladding for increased durability and minimal maintenance. 

Product Features

Rationel AURA and AURAPLUS are characterised by clean lines and minimalist design. They are suitable for contemporary architecture with a Scandinavian aesthetic. The AURA windows are made from timber, showcasing natural wood beauty. They can be customised to suit any project and are available as double or triple-glazed units.  

Rationel FORMA and FORMAPLUS are designed to complement traditional British architecture, bringing classic style into the modern day. They feature unique detailing, such as classic profiles on the inside, classic-style glazing bars, and angled glazing beads. The classic and timeless styling is ideal for period Wiltshire and Somerset homes, and they offer all the advantages of modern windows, double or triple-glazed. Over 200 colours are available, with the option of different colours inside and out as well.  

Design and Engineering 

All Rationel windows are made from sustainable timber, providing natural insulation and acoustic performance. For increased durability and minimal maintenance,  the AURAPLUS and FORMAPLUS ranges offer aluminium-clad timber frames, combining the warmth of wood on the inside with the resilience of aluminium on the outside.

Security and Energy Efficiency

Rationel windows are designed with security in mind, featuring enhanced hardware, such as solid window bolts and secure keeps, held in place with angled screws into the strongest part of the frame. Reinforced hinges provide smooth openings with added protection and security features such as being unable to be pulled from the frame. Toughened glass comes as standard with optional laminated glass upgrades.  

Energy efficiency with excellent with U-Values of 1.29Wm2K possible with the correct glass specification as a double-glazed window.  Triple-glazed windows are even better with typical U-Values as low as 0.78Wm2K.  This outstanding energy efficiency helps maintain a comfortable indoor climate and reduces energy consumption significantly.
